Ode to a Naiad Queen

Suspended in flower and sigh

I lay by the pond’s side,

To better gaze and spy-

These sirenic dreams coincide.

The sighs of the sunrise

Are the prize of the wise,

The sighs of the naiads hypnotize.

Oh lullaby of lullabies;

Poetry of lazuli beams

You took me to fountains of dreams.

Were I the Prince of Stars

I would take down Venus and Mars,

And they would  be jewels to your crown,

And  your sighs would be alight all around.

I would weave  you a gown

Of satin and nebular down;

And every star would be to you drawn

To adorn your poetry of dawn.

To kiss your lips of iris

I would become Osiris;

And each evening I would be your lover,

I would be a reflection; over your lips to hover.

 Blue Lily of an imperial garden-

My kiss would beg your eternal pardon.

I would descend  into your cradle of flowers,

And love you in the moonlit hours.

And in the dawn I'd rise in your sighs

To be the morning star in the dawn skies.
