Nocturne IV

Night comes again to the eden glen

Declaring  love to every bloom in pen.

So Eden becomes with poem enflowered;

Completely bewildered in the midnight hour.

Come Adam of the Garden starred

Your perfume is the attar of the nard.

Cestrums burst to bloom at your feet

Ipomoeas bloom for your eye to greet.

Your fragrance came to me first

And the cosmos in ecstasy burst.

Next, was the gaze of your eternal eyes

And every sigh was made the color of skies.

But your kiss, again on mine was lain

And made us twain in heart and vein.

Where the heavens starred dance all night, here we are to remain.

In this garden to marvel at the quantity of stars the skies contain.

And in summer - the rain that falls so light

Is that which feeds the blooms of our love-

That spread so far in heavens arc as below so above.
